On March 29th, The Astor Hotel, A Luxury Collection Hotel join the millions of individuals, organizations, businesses and governments across the globe for Earth Hour 2014. Earth Hour is a global effort to emphasize the threat of global warming and the need to reduce carbon emissions. It has become a powerful symbol that all of our “small steps” can have an impactful and lasting difference on the health of our planet.
In 2013, hundreds of millions of individuals participated in the biggest Earth Hour to date creating history as the world’s largest ever voluntary action. This is the sixth year in which Starwood has participated in Earth Hour. Last year’s incredibly successful event included participation of nearly 600 Starwood hotels globally. The Astor Hotel, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Tianjin will take part in the Earth Hour on 29th March, 2014 8:30 O’clock. We will switch off the hotel exterior lights turn down or turn off the non-essential interior lighting. Use candles in bars or restaurants and other public areas. Broadcast the “Earth hour” trough email or TV in the guest room.

“What can we do in this dark hour? We can do a lot of entertainment things.” That is what we want to show. In this one hour, we hosted unplugged concert performances in O’ Hara’s. It aims to encourage an interconnected global community to share the opportunities and challenges of creating a sustainable world.
