Kathleen Tan, AirAsia's China marketing chief, said Tianjin-Kuala Lumpur flights will resume on Feb 1 by securing a better take-off time at 2 pm, replacing the previous 8 am flight.

Tianjin is a strategic point for the world's most vibrant low-budget airline to penetrate the Beijing market and lure more passengers from North China.

An 8 am takeoff time meant a low seat rate of around 40-50 percent and the low-cost carrier was unable to sustain flights of the costly airbus A340. Therefore, the Tianjin-KL route was suspended on Nov 23, after its maiden flight on April 2.

Having worked with fashion brands including Gucci, Fendi and Guess, Tan has a strong sense for the carrier's branding.

The air hostess' red outfits are complemented by red detailing at the interior design of the company headquarters and on the planes.

"Red is a powerful color Ferrari, Coca Cola, Levis and McDonald's know the magic of the color," she said.

Price for a single trip is 428 yuan ($63) and 1298 yuan ($190) for a round trip, including tax. The carrier targets young couples, students, backpackers, the retired and family tours.

In South China, AirAsia has destinations to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Haikou, Guilin, Hangzhou and Chengdu.
