Tianjin's traffic management bureau and the AutaNavi Software, a domestic leader in digital maps and navigation services, have announced a cooperation deal on April 26th whereby they will issue a "May Day" trip forecast and a Tianjin transportation report for the first quarter of 2016, with the aim of providing a more convenient transportation system for the city.
According to a bureau official, the two parties will be issuing the reports before important holidays and activities.
Dong Zhenning, AutaNavi`s vice-president, emphasized that they intend to both reduce commuting time and increase efficiency through transportation R&D, and are working with the transportation bureaus of more than 20 cities, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Nanjing, in exploring the possibilities of an "Internet + transportation" system. They can provide transportation data analysis, such as an "urban traffic jam site" list and "road conditions of hot business circles".
