Adding a Twist to Casual Dining @ blue frog

001It's hard to improve on perfection but the latest menu from blue frog includes some exciting new twists on traditional favorites and some experimental new dishes, fresh and still sizzling from the blue frog development kitchen!


Going back to our roots of 'bar & grill', we're firing up our red hot char-grills more than ever before to lend that signature smokiness to a number of dishes, including our all natural Grilled Norwegian Salmon Fillet, the Seafood Mixed Grill and the miniaturized but moreish BBQ Beef Sliders.


On or off the char-grill, blue frog continues to do what blue frog does best, and that's adding a playful twist here and an innovative tweak there to some truly popular and classical dishes. So, look out for salads with ten or more components like Sesame Chicken Salad (it's made up of fifteen ingredients!), sandwiches that use traditional Italian breads (try the Saut01ed Beef Tenderloin Sandwich on focaccia) and a dessert for the senses, the multi-textured Chocolate Terrine. Tasting is believing!


Signature Grilled Goodies!
Quality ingredients are always a top priority for blue frog's Chefs. On the inventory of star ingredients this time are Icelandic red fish, beef cheek and a jackpot of seafood goodies!


By choosing the might of char-grill to prepare certain dishes, our Chefs are able to maximize the eating experience by locking in flavor and moistness, adding a characteristic smokiness through the natural magic of caramelization. Those bar marks on your steak don't just look cool, they represent flavor!


Seafood Mixed Grill

The oceans' finest - shrimps, mussels, red fish and calamari - sizzle together on the char-grill and are united as Seafood Mixed Grill, a surefire new blue frog favorite. These smoky and briny treats are served with spicy aioli and Asian sesame chive dipping sauce. Go ahead, get dipping, this is a great dish to share!

Bit bored of the city's beef dishes and the same old seafood options? Fed up with fried fish? Us too, so this is where blue frog's Chefs have had a whale of a time, enriching and refreshing traditional menu items.


Pan-Fried Icelandic Red Fish

Take the all new Pan-Fried Icelandic Red Fish dish. This fish has lovely white flesh and is really lean, flaky and moist making it an ideal plate pal for Chef's sweet and sour bell pepper mango salsa, as well as some cracking crispy roasted baby potatoes!


Pepper Braised Beef Cheek

The food geeks tell us that the harder a muscle works, the more flavor and this is exactly the case for the grass-chomping beef cheeks! Our Pepper Braised Beef Cheek are lovingly slow-cooked in port wine to give a meltingly fall apart Autumn beef dish. We give you a fork to eat it but you could just use a spoon, they're that tender!


Thai-Style Shrimp Salad

blue frog recognizes that a good range of healthy options is important for many customers but it doesn't have to mean uninspiring salads made up of mounds of leaves and little else of interest! The new Thai-Style Shrimp Salad is a mind-blowing mix of ingredients taking you on a typically Thai culinary journey with some great sour ingredients, a few sweet, salty and bitter ones and, of course, it's damn spicy! Plump shrimps, freshly zapped on the char-grill, are mixed with coconut, mint, cilantro and a homemade Thai dressing created from lemongrass, garlic, chili, lime and pretty much everything else in Chef's spice drawer!


Brunch addiction
Brunch in the city is perhaps one of the best meals of the week, right? Well it just got even better with blue frog's new and improved brunch offer. Our Chefs have become 'hollandaise heroes' these past few weeks finessing three Benedict and one Florentine option, all served draped in this comforting buttery sauce! Smoked Salmon Benedict

For the ultimate indulgence, go for the Smoked Salmon Benedict or for a different take on egg 'n surf dishes, be amongst the first to order our Scrambled Eggs with Shrimp. This protein rich dish comes with grilled asparagus, mushrooms, parmesan cheese and a good spoonful of that legendary hollandaise, naturally!


Sandwiches fit for the Earl!
We feel strongly that the bread of a sandwich is as important as its filling. Our new dishes use some traditionally baked Italian wheat ciabatta bread and focaccia to encase some truly exciting contents.

Of the three new additions to the menu, the Cuban Sandwich is a true crowd-pleaser we think, remaining true to the authentic filling combination of bacon, smoked ham, cheddar cheese, pickles and mustard mayo…it's just that we put it in our lovingly home baked wheat ciabatta bread, just like Mamma used to make, for a little crunch. A noisy eat but a bread star of the future!


The best things come in small packages
Think blue frog, think burgers! Since opening in 2003, there's not much left for us to discover in the world of burgers! If there was a burger rule book, 'lil frog would have written it!

With char-grills at the ready though, we've gone all bitesize and put some BBQ Beef Sliders on the menu. Great for sharing, not that you'll want to, these Australian mini beef patties are topped with cheddar cheese, pan-fried onions and pickles. Small is beautiful after all, although the Montana and his burger pals wouldn't necessarily agree with you!

Finishing with a flourish
All this new savory goodness needs a sweet finish! Many of our customers go nuts for our Chocolate Brownie but if you're looking for a change of pace, we'd like to introduce you to Chocolate Terrine.

Just as chocolatey, the difference here is in the texture. It's mousse-light and an injection of orange liqueur will ensure it gets your attention at the end of the meal! As we all know, chocolate and orange are longstanding BFFs!


Just the same...only different!
Our new menu doesn't stop here, there's a dozen or more exciting new things to try, and, of course, there's all the old favorites too! It wouldn't be blue frog without our blue frog Fried Chicken, Beef Lasagna and the Mile High now would it!
