The Taste of India Shangri-La Hotel, Tianjin Offers With Master Chef Inderpal Singh Jolly

IMG 4158Shangri-La Hotel, Tianjin presents 'a taste of India' at Café Yun from 19 May through to 28 May. Guest Chef Inderpal Singh Jolly, who trained at the Culinary Academy, Hyderabad and after working in renowned Indian specialty restaurants in Hyderabad and Mumbai has now made his way to China, where he excels at taking diners on a fragrant and colourful journey through Indian cuisine.

Indian cuisine places emphasis on fresh ingredients and magical spices creating tongue-tingling flavours that are sure to whet any appetite. From spiced and fragrant gravies to scorched tandoor grills, flavoured kababs, chapattis, mixed rice dishes and delicious sweet desserts, there is something for every taste.

Proud of India's' diverse cuisine, that has taken shape over millennia's, Chef Jolly embarks on a mission to bring 'the taste of India' to Café Yun. Try the likes of; Tandoori Lamb Chops, Chicken Tikka, Prawns Pakoda - home style prawn fritters, Coconut Curries, Dam Ka Gosht - slowly steamed mutton in a delicious and fragrant gravy.

Not to be missed, India's renowned Dal Makhi - creamy black lentils with Garlic Naan - garlic buttered flavoured flat bread and Laccha Parath - multi-layered and shallow fried flat bread. And not forgetting their sinful desserts, Rasgulla - cottage cheese dumplings soaked in syrup, Gajjar Ka Halwa - carrot pudding and Kheer - rice pudding. And, to compliment the food try India's world famous flavoured tea, Masala Chai - brewed black tea with a mix of aromatic spices and herbs, and Lassi - a traditional yoghurt based drink blended with water and spices, both savory and sweet.
