Mar. 3, 2010 (China Knowledge) - High-tech products exported through Tianjin Port increased 62.4% year on year to US$1.05 billion in January, according to statistics recently released by Tianjin Customs.
The primary characteristics of trade through Tianjin in January were that most of the exports were produced in the processing trade, that most of the exporters were foreign-invested companies, and that most of the exports went to the EU, the U.S. and South Korea.
Tianjin exported US$830 million of high-tech products assembled in China, 64.5% more than last January. Such products accounted for 79% of Tianjin's total trade value in the period.
Tianjin exported US$900 million of high-tech products of foreign-invested companies, 65.6% more than last January. Exports of foreign-invested companies accounted for 85.7% of Tianjin's total trade value in the period.
Tianjin exported US$310 million of high-tech products to the EU, 91.3% more than last January. Exports to the U.S. and South Korea were US$180 million and US$91.55 million, up 38.6% and 30.4%, respectively.
