050CCTV vision captures the man trying to smuggle the human arms through customs at a Chinese bus station.

This is the bizarre moment a man tried to smuggle real, severed human arms through customs at a Chinese bus station before being stopped by stunned security guards - who were then left speechless by his excuse.

CCTV footage shows the 50-year-old entering the bus station and calmly placing his bag through a scanner before collecting it and strolling off.

The man put his luggage through security with the arms in it. Shocked officials rushed after the man when their screens captured what looked like a real human body part inside his luggage.

The clip shows how the man was stopped and brought him to an office for questioning. This weird incident happened in Duyun in China’s Guizhou province.

Although it must have looked sinister at first, there was an explanation for the man carrying the arms.

052Security officers were stunned by the discovery.

He was not a murderer but a devoted brother, who explained that his sibling had both limbs in a horrific electrical accident. He claimed he was taking the arms back to his village for safekeeping in case his brother died.

Traditional Chinese beliefs mean a person must be buried with all parts of the human body when they die. After he was caught with the arms, the man offered a rather sad excuse.

Officers at the bus depot confirmed the man’s story after calling the hospital where his brother was undergoing treatment, but they refused to allow him to board the bus with the human parts. The officials told the man he would need a special permit to carry around body parts.
