Starting from August 27, railway passengers taking trains to Beijing will be subject to additional checks before boarding.

The security measure is taken for this year's Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation which is going to be held on September 3 and 4, police said.
Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station
Police said the additional checks at the gates will be stricter than the regular checks before passengers enter the train stations so as to prevent passengers from taking dangerous and banned objects onto the trains.
The measure will last till September 5. Passengers are reminded to arrive at the train stations earlier during the time.
