The per capita disposable income of Shanghai and Beijing residents exceeded 60,000 yuan ($8,900) for the first time in 2018, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
Shanghai residents topped the country with the highest disposable income at 64,183 yuan, followed by Beijing at 62,361 yuan, then Zhejiang province at 45,840 yuan. Tianjin ranked No. 4 which at 39,506 yuan.

In 2018, the per capita disposable income of national residents was 28,228 yuan, an increase of 8.7 percent over the previous year or a real growth of 6.5 percent after deducting price factors.
Per capita wage income comprised a major part of disposable income of national residents, which accounted for 56.1% at 15,829 yuan last year.
