TIANJIN--Following the success of IATA passenger e-ticket implementation, IATA cargo e-freight project is another important project in worldwide. The project aims to use of EDI data transferring in the logistics process to replace all related paper documents, in order to improve import and export business efficiency, to reduce logistics cost. This project will significantly reduce carbon emissions in line with the development trend of low-carbon economy.
The project has been implemented successfully in 25 countries or regions, almost one hundreds of airports in Europe/USA and Asia, but in mainland China have not yet success cases.
Dimerco Express Group subsidiary companies-Dimerco Tianjin successfully passed the trial testing on 29 April 2010, to become the first e-freight forwarder by IATA testing in mainland China.
Being Grade A Customs Broker, with strong local capabilities on customs and quarantine service, Dimerco Tianjin tested successfully 3 import and 1 export shipment, which was done by joint effort of totally 10 parties, including :The electronic port of Tianjin, IATA, shipper, consignee, airline, origin terminal, destination terminal, China Customs, China Inspection & Quarantine and freight forwarder.
During this process, all related shipping information from the Dimerco Value Plus System automatically linked with other companies/government department's computer system, achieved the whole paperless process.
