On 28 June the opening ceremony of the 17th China Tianjin Trade Fair and Investment Talks (CTIT) was held at the Meijiang International Exhibition Centre with speeches by Tianjin Mayor Huang Xingguo and several vice mayors. The fair consisted of several exhibitions focusing in the three main areas of industry, geography/investment and industrial parks.
Tianjin’s primary, secondary and tertiary industries sought local and foreign cooperation with representation of the steel, pharmaceutical, technology, tourism and real estate industries. Each industry offered a preview into Tianjin’s future advancements and developments.
Each of Tianjin urban districts and surrounding developing districts had an individual booth specifying current and future projects and objectives set by the district and municipal governments.
Major industrial parks at the event included several industrial zones with the Airport Free Trade Industrial Area, TEDA, Tianjin Sino-Singapore Eco-City and the China Cycle Industrial Park attracting a higher number of foreign visitors.
The ceremony concluded at 12 noon for VIP guests but is still open to the public until 2 July. The opening ceremony marks the first major event in the exhibition centre preceding the Summer Davos scheduled for September.Â
