More than 770 million residents of China, accounting for over half of the country’s total population, have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, the top health authority said Friday.
China had administered more than 1.83 billion doses of Covid-19 vaccine as of Thursday, Mi Feng, a spokesperson for the National Health Commission (NHC), said at a press conference.
Recently, several regions in China began vaccinating minors aged 12 to 17, said He Qinghua, another NHC official. The vaccination campaign is proceeding in an “orderly manner” as more than 60 million doses have been administered to minors across the country.
