Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City Investment and Development Co., Ltd. (SSTEC) will join hands with the Philippines’ top integrated city developer, Ayala Land, Inc. (Ayala Land) to develop Ayala Land’s flagship project in China. The collaboration will involve a 9.78 ha project which is estimated to cost RMB 1.5 billion and will be home to more than 1,100 households when completed in 2013. The partners have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore co-development opportunities in the eco central business district (eco-CBD), the highlight of the Phase 2 development of the Tianjin Eco-City, which will set the pace and standard for eco friendly CBDs globally.

As the gateway of the Eco-City’s Start-Up Area (SUA), this development will be among the first few developments that visitors will see as they enter the Tianjin Eco-City. This development is also conveniently located near to the commercial centre development surrounding the first light rail transit (LRT) station. The site is strategically co-located with the first international school in the Tianjin Eco-City which will be ran by GEMS Education (GEMS), the world’s largest K-12 (Kindergarten to Grade 12) education company based out of Dubai.

The project will be designed by AECOM, one of the top US design consultants and will strive to meet at least the silver-award standard of the Tianjin Eco-City’s Green Building Evaluation Standard (GBES). It will commence its development by end 2010. As the Philippines’ leading property developer, Ayala Land has gained eight decades of experience in sustainable real estate development and is committed to minimising environmental impact of its developments.

Mr. Goh Chye Boon, Chief Executive Officer of SSTEC, said: “To create a truly international eco-city, SSTEC has reached out to other developers in China, Singapore and the region. We have since successfully attracted the largest and eco-oriented developers from China’s Shimao Group, Japan’s Mitsui Fudosan Group, Taiwan’s Farglory Group and Malaysia’s Sunway Group. With the addition of Ayala Land, we are confident that their experience and strong track record in sustainable development will definitely help us in turning our vision of designing and promoting a new model and benchmark of sustainable urban living for China and beyond into reality. ”
