AU Optronics (AUO) will expand its PV solar module capacity in Taiwan, China's Tianjin and the Czech Republic, according to the company.
AUO is expected to ramp up solar module capacity at its Taichung, Taiwan plant to 200MWp by year's end, and capacity in the Czech Republic will rise to 100MWp. Its Tianjin facility will begin volume production in the fourth quarter and initial capacity should reach 200MWp. The solar cell plant in Malaysia, which is a joint venture with US-based SunPower, will provide 400MWp in capacity by the end of 2011.
