EHang Holdings Ltd. has successfully completed all necessary tests to obtain a type certificate for their electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. This achievement brings the Chinese startup one step closer to becoming one of the first companies worldwide to manufacture unmanned flying cars for commercial use.
The type certificate is expected to be obtained soon for EHang’s flagship product, the EH216-S Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) System. The necessary procedures and finalizations are currently being completed by the company. EHang has expressed its anticipation to receive the certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
This milestone represents a significant advancement for the development of flying cars and urban air mobility. EHang is actively working towards securing approval for the commercial application of their eVTOL aircraft. While the exact timeline remains uncertain, the completion of all necessary tests indicates progress in bringing this innovative technology to market.
EHang’s unmanned flying cars have the potential to revolutionize transportation by providing an efficient and environmentally friendly mode of transport. The eVTOL aircraft combine vertical takeoff and landing capabilities with electric propulsion, promising reduced traffic congestion and carbon emissions.
As EHang moves closer to obtaining the type certificate, they are paving the way for the future of aerial transportation. Once approved, the company will be well-positioned to manufacture and deploy unmanned flying cars for commercial use, contributing to the advancement of urban air mobility on a global scale.
