China’s GDP grew 4.9% year-on-year in the third quarter, official data showed Wednesday, as policymakers rolled out a string of measures to boost confidence and shore up the economic recovery.
The figure comes in higher than the average estimate of 4.5% growth in a recent Caixin survey of economists. But it’s lower than the 6.3% growth in the second quarter, though the latter can be partly attributed to a low base in the same period in 2022.
