The Lincoln Center, a world-leading performing arts center based in New York, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Tianjin Innovative Finance Investment Company to provide consulting services for a proposed performing arts complex in Tianjin on April 28.

The agreement is aimed at making full use of both sides’ advantages to build the Yujiapu Arts Center, a future cultural landmark in Yujiapu, the financial hub in the Binhai New Area of Tianjin.

Under the strategic cooperation agreement, during the preparatory stage, the Lincoln Center will build a core team of experts and senior executives to conduct market analyses for the arts center project, and provide consulting services in connection with the planning and construction of the world-class performing arts center. After the construction is completed, the Lincoln Center will also recommend the content of artistic programming, and provide consulting services for the arts center’s operations, cultural exchanges, and staff training.

Deputy Tianjin Mayor Cui Jindu and the Lincoln Center’s Chairperson Katherine Farley said the arts center will not only provide quality cultural services to residents in Yujiapu and surrounding areas, but also attach great importance to discovering and cultivating talent in performing arts or management.

It will become a platform for artistic innovation, and play an active role in promoting the cultural and artistic exchanges between China and the United States.
