It was reported earlier this week that Great Wall Motor's new Tianjin production site is to officially begin production in August. Great Wall has already over 300 staff onboard currently going through training.
Â
The new site, valued at 8 billion yuan ($1.23b), will reportedly be responsible for future production of the Haval H6 SUV and Voleex C50 sedan. First-phase construction is already fundamentally completed, with early production targets set at 250,000 vehicles.
Â
The factory will include washing, smelting, painting and general assembly areas, as well as inspection facilities. Staff are already at work, with workers scurrying about the C50 assembly line inspecting their work. According to Wang Jixian, head of the current production phase, the factory's staff is currently in the middle of onsite training, with the aim of improving their knowledge of the vehicles and the manufacturing process.
