Tianjin is willing to make further efforts with Anhui province to push their cooperation to a higher level, the visiting Tianjin Party chief Zhang Gaoli said Wednesday.
Zhang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and secretary of the Tianjin Municipal Committee of the CPC, made the remarks in Hefei, capital city of Anhui province during a meeting with secretary of the Anhui Provincial Committee of the CPC Zhang Baoshun.
"Anhui province has made remarkable progress both in reform and opening up and in modernization drive," Zhang Gaoli said, after expressing gratitude to the CPC Anhui committee and the government of Anhui province for their warm reception, on behalf of the delegation he led.
"Tianjin is willing to further expand areas for its cooperation with Anhui," he said, hoping the two sides can raise their partnership to a higher level.
Zhang Gaoli expressed admiration for the achievements made by Anhui province under the leadership of the CPC Anhui provincial committee and the Anhui provincial government, saying Tianjin is ready to establish a closer cooperative relationship with Anhui to better serve the two sides' common interests.
The Anhui's official said as one of China's four direct-controlled municipality and the largest coastal open city in North China, Tianjin plays an important role in the development of the country.
Since the city began to implement the reform and opening up policy, it has led the country in many fields, Zhang Baoshun said.
People in the two places, though miles and miles apart, enjoy a long-standing friendship, according to the Party chief of Anhui.
He continued to say that both sides should seize every opportunity to boost cooperation in carrying out state-level strategies, improving independent innovation capability and expanding competitive industries.
