Tianjin will put 1,000 electric buses into service in urban area, set up eight charging and swapping stations, and complete battery system equipping, vehicle bidding and monitoring platform in two years.
The first 40 buses will be put into operation in the first half of this year. By 2015, the city will have run 2,000 electric buses and set up 16 charging and swapping stations.
It is reported that Tianjin now has more than 400 new energy vehicles, including 207 electric buses; five charging stations, and a new charging station under construction. Totally, 25 cities in China have more than 16,800 new energy vehicles, of which buses account for more than 85 percent.
