Berlitz, one of the oldest and most prestigious language instruction providers has joined many other global companies and opened up a facility in Tianjin. With training centres all over Asia, and and one of the largest in neighboring city of Beijing, their newly opened Tianjin branch is a welcome addition.
Friday morning at the Jinhuang Tower in the Tianjin City Centre, heralded the opening ceremony of this new branch. Among guests were several well known faces from the business community, not surprisingly as Berlitz has been the premier provider of language training for many of the largest companies in Tianjin and in TEDA, along with media and several of Berlitz’s top brass.
Richard Yuan, Country Manager, Greater China, welcomed us along with Shelly Xu, Associate Language Center Director of Tianjin. Both provided details of the amazing 130 year history of Berlitz and we discussed why Tianjin was the right choice at this time. In essence the past, present, and future potential clientele of Berlitz are opening offices and factories in Tianjin at an increasing rate along with growing demand from locals for a professional language training centre. Even though Beijing is close by, Berlitz feels it can provide even better service by opening a Tianjin branch.
Also on hand for the event was Val Bates, Local Senior Instructional Consultant, from Berlitz’s Beijing office. Mr. Bates introduced Berlitz at the opening ceremony, telling attendees about how Berlitz separates itself from other language-training operators. Besides their own material, which was claimed as among the best in the world, Berlitz concentrates on providing targeted training, with 10 levels of instruction possible.
