Low-cost carrier Scoot, Singapore Airlines' fully-owned subsidiary, will start flying to Tianjin from Singapore in August as its first foray into China's market.
The medium-to-long-haul flight operator also said it will be adding two more China-Singapore flights before the end of 2012.
China's capital, Beijing, will not be one of the cities.
Scoot's CEO, Campbell Wilson, said Scoot will service China's secondary cities - markets that are not substantial enough to be served by its full-service mother company Singapore Airlines.
Tickets to Tianjin will go on sale in a few weeks.
Scoot, which was launched this year, said 17,000 seats of its S$88 Singapore-Sydney flights were sold online within the first nine hours of sale.
