The reporter learned from the Tianjin Port Group that, during the whole last year when there is the unfavorable situation of the foreign trade market downturn and the weak growth of domestic trade market, the cargo throughput of Tianjin Port was more than 450 million tons, representing an increase of 9 percent year on year, ranking fourth in the list of world port cargo throughput. During January and February this year, Tianjin Port totaled 69.222 million tons of cargo throughput and 1.772 million TEUs of container throughput, achieved an increase of 5.11% and 5.15% respectively over that during the same period of last year, realizing the grand opening of the port production.
It is understood that this year, Tianjin Port will strengthen the development and maintenance of container marine line, strengthen the development of the inland market, form a new growth point in shipping of goods such as automotive, food, rough timber etc.,, organize large-scale regional marketing activities, integrate and optimize the productive resources of the whole port, expand port services function and so on, which is a total of “ten key aspects”, positively extend the market and seize the supply of goods, and constantly adjust the port structure, further stride forward to the comprehensive powerful port in the world. Tianjin Port will strive to achieve 4.7 million tons of cargo throughput and 12 million TEUs of container throughput this year.
