The 2007 Nobel Prize Winner in Physiology or Medicine, world-renowned stem cell biologist, Professor of Mammalian Genetics in Cardiff University, Sir Martin John Evans recently visited Tianjin for the Concord and source of stem cell bioengineering Annual General meeting where he signed a consulting agreement and was appointed as the company’s chief technology adviser. Both sides will work together to carry out technology research and development of stem cell therapy in a joint venture established in Tianjin Airport Economic Zone.
It is understood that bio-medicine is one of the fastest growing high-tech industries of the city’s eight competitive pillar industries and there is a strong momentum of development in Binhai New Area. Currently, the city’s development of stem cell science has obvious advantages and this partnership will further strengthen bilateral exchanges in human resources, technology and other aspects, and will further promote the city’s stem cell technology development and the formation of industrial clusters.
