The reporter learned from the press conference held by the organizing committee of Tianjin Investment & Trade Fair and PECC Fair that, The 19th Tianjin Investment & Trade Fair (hereinafter referred to as “the Fair”) and The 8th PECC International Trade & Investment Fair will be held at Tianjin from the day of 11 to 15 of May. The two fairs are hosted jointly by the Ministry of Commerce, Tianjin Municipal People’s Government, All-China Federation of Returned Overseas, China General Chamber of Commerce, China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment, and China Shipper’s Association. During the fair period, Binhai New Area will hold a Promotional Show for Investment Environment and Cooperation Projects, the Signing Ceremony for Dongjiang Industrial and Commercial Financial Leasing Project, and many other large-scale investment promotion events.
As far as we know, up till now, more than 200 enterprises renowned both at home and abroad have applied to attend the Fair. During the period of the Fair, various participant provinces, municipalities, enterprises and organizations will additionally hold more than 50 small-scale meetings. Besides, three national-level development areas, namely, Tianjin Economic & Technological Development Area, Xiqing Economic-Technological Development Area and Tianjin Wuqing Development Area, and eight foreign trade export bases including Tianjin Binhai Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone famous for its medical apparatus and instruments, Tianjin Economic & Technological Development Area for Western and Traditional Chinese Medicines, Baodi District for musical instrument and Wuqing District for carpet will also attend the Fair as a group.
Moreover, it is expected that all participant units will totally introduce 800 investment promotion projects, 500 of which will come from other provinces and municipalities; the participant enterprises will outreach 8500, travelling traders and tourists will reach 55,000 and 300,000 respectively, directly driving the turnover of peripheral businesses such as transportation, catering, tourism and accommodation to increase by 20% or above.
