Tianjin Binhai New Area (TBNA) achieved total regional revenue of RMB22.5 billion and fixed investments of RMB16 billion in the first half of 2012, up 31.6% and 31.2% respectively year on year.Â

Enterprises above designated size in the TBNA saw total revenue of RMB23.5 billion, up 54.2% year on year, maintaining their lead citywide.Â

TBNA has attracted a batch of high-end projects such as ZTE solar energy business headquarters, Sanda International North China headquarters, and Cameron-Perth China headquarters this year.Â

In order to build a Next-generation Smart City, TBNA has officially pushed forward 10 measures to develop the economy in Tianjin and set up 8 special funds to build a core area for rising industries, a gathering zone for high-end talents, and a pilot region for opening-up cooperation. The investment is expected to reach RMB4-5 billion by the end of this year. Â
