Tianjin and Japan's Akita Prefecture signed a cooperation deal on Wednesday to boost bilateral economic and cultural ties.
The visiting Japanese delegation was headed by Norihisa Satake, the Governor of Akita Prefecture.
Akita Prefecture, located on the northeast coast of Japan's Honshu Island, is famous for its tourism, agriculture and ports.
Mayor of Tianjin Huang Xingguo said: "the two sides can expand bilateral cooperation in matters of trade, MICE, tourism and personnel exchanges."
Norihisa Satake said the rapid economic growth of Tianjin suggests a bright future for bilateral cooperation.
Members of the delegation visited Tianjin Cultural Center and Wudadao Sightseeing Street during their stay in the city.
