The tourism geographic information system (GIS) terminal equipment of Tianjin city have gained approval from experts, and nearly 1000 tourism GIS terminal equipment are expected to be put into operation in Tianjin by the end of this year, according to the Tianjin Tourism Department.
This “Smart Tourism” system consists of several parts, covering scenic spots, hotels, traffic, catering, entertainment, shopping, finance and health care. Citizens and tourists can search for information on subways, flights and buses, print coupons, and pay or recharge via the system.
The system opens up for both citizens and tourists with functions of information inquiry and commercial payment. To date, trail operations of “Smart Tourism” system in some hotels and business bodies have received satisfactory feedbacks from tourists.
Tianjin “Smart Tourism” system covers all six major elements including dining, accommodation, traffic, tourism, shopping and entertainment. It will not only bring great convenience to tourists, but also push forwards the development of Tianjin’s tourism industry.
