The Tianjin branch of China Mobile plans to build a wireless broadband network that will serve up to 10 million users throughout the whole municipality by 2015.Â
Â
The company has already begun investing RMB10 billion in the construction of the network in Tianjin.Â
Â
In 2013, residents along the Hai River will be able to enjoy the pioneering 4G TD-LTE network. The 4G technology will be capable of transferring data faster than third-generation networks.Â
Â
Before the network is rolled out to the whole city, it will first be seen in college campuses, hospitals and major bus stations, train stations and the Binhai International Airport. There are already 3,850 hotspots working in those areas.Â
Â
Hotels, shopping malls, office buildings and public service areas such as government complexes, conference and exhibition centers will be gradually added to the service zones.
