Shanghai remains China's most sustainable region of development, according to the 2013 China Sustainable Development Report issued yesterday.

Published by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the report also cites Beijing and Tianjin, as well as the provinces of Jiangsu, Jilin, Zhejiang, Liaoning, Hainan, Guangdong and Fujian, as being highly sustainable. A similar report issued last year listed Shanghai, Beijing and Tianjin, as well as Guangdong and Jiangsu provinces, as the most sustainable regions.Â
