altA Tianjin Low-carbon Garden designed by Tianjin Landscape Design Institute won the 2013 Good Design Awards (Chicago) on May 30. This is the second time China has secured the prize after the Beijing Olympic Forest Park did so in 2011.

In 2012, the first Low-carbon Garden was designed and built in the Yat-sen Scientific Industry Park. It focuses on low carbon gardening, and has set a benchmark for the industry to promote and lead the low carbon gardening and construction industry to develop quickly. Many domestic experts praised highly its leading model role.

The Good Design Awards are awarded annually by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in cooperation with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies. Entries for design and innovation, sustainability, creativity, branding, ecologically responsible design, human factors, materials, technology, graphic arts, packaging, and universal design are submitted annually by various industrial design and graphic design firms working for Fortune 500 companies. All products and graphics must have been in production or manufactured for at least 2 years before the contest title year. One of the main considerations for the award selection is whether or not a product can enrich society and people's lives through its design.
