Organised by the Tianjin Historical Architecture Restoration and Development Co, Ltd, the China Traditional Culture Event will be held in Min Yuan Terrace on 10 June. The Peking Opera’s costume and makeup of “legendary elegancy” will be shown that day. Moreover, there will be a Chinese folk music concert named “Classic Tune with Pop Style”, and an innovative market called “The Exchange of “Favourite Objects” too. A series of wonderful activities of both body and mind will give the citizens and the tourists a memorable festival with endless fun.
About 60 years ago, Mei Lanfang, the internationally renowned master of Peking Opera, had visited and lived in Min Yuan Terrace for a short period, which in turn, introduced the opera culture to the Wudadao area. With time passing by, this event will invite the Peking Opera actors- having a live show of their costume and makeup, and then bringing back the famous character of Yuji created by Mr. Mei Lanfang by performing the classic aria in Farewell My Concubine.
Besides all this, the “Classic Tune with Pop Style” concert will feature performances of the famous instrumental ensemble of the Chinese folks Clouds Chasing the Moon and Mountain and Flowing Water. The actors will interact with the audience and inspire people’s interest of Peking Opera.
In the future, the Min Yuan Terrace will provide various cultural activities to have more people enjoy themselves and share their enthusiasm for the Chinese traditional art.
