On the 25th June it was announced that a sister relationship has been established between Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Fox Chase Cancer Center. This relationship will allow the two institutions to strengthen their cooperation in the field of cancer prevention and control, and further develop oncology expertise in Tianjin and throughout China.

The Fox Chase Cancer Center is a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center research facility and hospital located in the Philadelphia in the United States. The center is part of the Temple University Health System (TUHS), which specializes in the treatment, and prevention of cancer. The center was founded in 1974 by the merger of the American Oncologic Hospital, founded in 1904 as the first cancer hospital in the United States, and the Institute for Cancer Research, founded in 1927.
