More than 30 experts from home and abroad are expected to gather in north China's Tianjin municipality from 11 to 13 November to discuss issues concerning the Northeast Asia region and enhance regional cooperation.Â
Â
Issues on the regional situation, economic cooperation and relevant countries' strategies for the region will top the gathering's agenda, according to the briefing.Â
Â
Academics and diplomats from China, the United States, Russia, Japan, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the Republic of Korea and Mongolia are expected to come up with ideas at the international conference.Â
Â
The event was co-initiated by several non-governmental organisations including the China Foundation for International Studies (CFIS) and the China International Institute for Strategic Society.Â
Â
Shen Guofang, Vice President of the CFIS, said that there are both disputes and cooperation potential in the region, adding that he hopes experts can exchange views freely through the platform and come up with new ideas for the promotion of communication and cooperation in the region.Â
