China's Okay Airways has received permission to launch international flights.

The carrier, which is based in Tianjin, has had its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) upgraded by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), and will now launch flights to the Korean island of Jeju.

Commencing on 23 January 2014, Okay will operate two weekly flights from Tianjin’s Binhai International Airport to Jeju, every Thursday and Sunday. But then from 30 March 2014, the frequency will be doubled, with four week flights operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The route will be operated using a single-aisle Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

Okay Airways currently operates a fleet of 11 B737-800s and 11 Chinese-made MA-60 turboprop aircraft.
