Danish recycling equipment manufacturer, Eldan Recycling is to supply a three tonne per hour cable recycling line to Chinese firm, Tianjin Xinneng Renewable Resources.
According to Eldan the line is capable recovering valuable copper or aluminium granulate to a 99.5% metal purity, as well as plastics from the insulation of the cabling.
The equipment supplier explained that the Chinese company has at its almost 300,000 m2 site for many years, where it processes and dismantles many types of scrap including cable, waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), end-of life-vehicles and plastics for recycling.
Eldan explained that the company, which employs 2000 people, is currently looking at ways to improve its efficiency, and as such is on a global search for suppliers of equipment to meet its demands.
The latest addition to the recycler’s equipment portfolio follows an earlier purchase of a second hand Eldan cable recycling line.
The new equipment will be used to support Tianjin Xinneng Renewable Resources’ Spanish and Italian copper smelting equipment.
"Although China is a heavy competitor on the world market for machinery, it seems that the Chinese managers of recycling companies appreciate that our equipment is designed for automated processing with surveillance only,” commented Dr. Toni Reftman, Eldan Recycling’s managing director.
