Guangzhou police said on Sunday that a man suspected of killing a family of six during a home robbery has been detained.
Â
The suspect, surnamed Su, 29, has confessed that he robbed the home in Panyu District of south China's Guangzhou City because he needed money to continue his online gaming.
Â
Su was caught at 5 a.m. Saturday in Nancun Township of Panyu District. A gold chain and several bank cards belonging to the victims were retrieved from the suspect's residence.
Â
Police said Su carried knives and broke into an apartment on the 22nd floor of a building at 3 a.m. on April 28. He killed all six people inside the apartment during a fight that ensued after the homeowner discovered Su.
Â
Su fled the scene with 6,000 CNY in cash, one gold chain and several bank cards, according to the police.

Further investigation into the case is under way.Â
