Airbus Tuesday signed a procurement contract for the design and production of transportation jigs for its latest aircraft program, the A350 XWB, with French-based NFM Technologies, 70 percent owned by the Chinese heavy industry group, NHI.

The transportation jigs are used to transport the sections of A350 XWB that are manufactured at various sites around Europe to the Final Assembly Line in Toulouse, France.

The total value of industrial cooperation between Airbus and the Chinese aviation industry in 2008 exceeded $100 million. It is expected to grow near $200 million per year in 2010 and further increase to $450 million per year in 2015.
