alt Singapore Airlines (SIA) is investigating how one of its Airbus A330-300s’ temporarily lost power on the flight bound for Shanghai on 23 May, the carrier said in a statement.

SIA said both engines experienced a temporary loss of power amid bad weather. The pilots followed operational procedures to restore normal operation of the engines, and finally the flight safely landed in Shanghai.

The incident occurred at 39,000 ft about three and a half hours after Flight SQ836 left Changi Airport. 182 passengers and 12 crew members were on board. No immediate "anomalies" were found in the engines after the flight safely landed in Shanghai.

SIA has contacted the engine maker, Rolls-Royce, and Airbus to review the incident.

According to Channel NewsAsia's report, Rolls-Royce said it has cooperated with SIA by providing "support and technical assistance," while Airbus said it was also engaged in finding the cause of power loss.
