SINGAPORE : Keppel DHCS, a unit of Keppel Group, has signed a joint venture agreement to provide district heating and cooling system in the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City.
Its partner in the project is Tianjin Eco-City Energy Investment and Construction.
The total investment amount is CNY$300 million (S$62 million).
The joint venture, Tianjin Eco-City Keppel New Energy Development, will be Keppel DHCS' foray in China
Keppel will own 80 per cent of the joint venture company, while its Chinese partner will hold the rest.
DHCS enables buildings to consume less energy than those using conventional systems and are therefore considered environmentally friendly.
The joint venture is not expected to have any material impact on the earnings per share of Keppel Corporation for the financial year ending December 31.
