Tianjin is lowering its price for nucleic acid tests from CNY 80 to CNY 60 in all public medical institutions.
Non-public medical institutions involved with public health insurance programs are required to lower the prices to the same level, too, for people who are covered by such programs.
Other non-public medical institutions are allowed to set their testing prices according to the market, but they must follow national and municipal regulations.
The Chinese mainland recorded 28 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Wednesday – one local transmission in Yunnan Province and 27 from overseas, the latest data from the National Health Commission showed on Thursday.
In addition, 19 new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 435 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.
