A bizarre incident occurred on Hainan Airlines flight no. HU7603 from Beijing to Shanghai on 3rd January. A male passenger suddenly became emotional when the plane was about to take off. He suddenly rushed to the front of the cabin to attack the flight attendant and shouted: “The plane will explode and everyone will die.” The man kept saying that the plane would crash and attacked the female flight attendant who screamed. During the ordeal which lasted 40 minutes the man mentioned that he was only 25 years old and did not want to die. He ran past the first-class cabin and went straight to the door, apparently trying to pull the door open. He was later arrested by air marshal.
Hainan Airlines confirmed the incident yesterday and said that the flight crew responded and dealt with the incident in a timely manner according to the standard operating procedure. The passenger was handed to the airport public security. Hainan Airlines apologised to affected passengers for the inconvenience caused.
