Tianjin has banned fireworks in its city proper to tackle air pollution.
According to the regulation, residents in the city proper are not allowed to set off fireworks on the Lunar New Year. Besides, specific areas and locations outside the outer ring have also banned fireworks, including transportation junctions such as bus stations, ports and the airport, places where inflammable and explosive dangerous goods are produced and stored, assembly occupancies, fire-prevention areas and nature reserves.
In the administrative areas of the Binhai New Area, the six inner city districts, and the four ring districts of this city, the operation (including storage), transportation, and setting off of fireworks and firecrackers are prohibited. The people's governments of other districts decide the areas and times where the operation (including storage) and setting off of fireworks and firecrackers are prohibited within the administrative area. In accordance with the above regulations, during the Spring Festival this year, the people's governments of Wuqing District, Baodi District, Jizhou District, Ninghe District, and Jinghai District optimized the management system of fireworks and firecrackers, and issued a notice to allow fireworks and firecrackers to be set off within a limited time and in a limited area.
Violators will be fined 100 yuan to 500 yuan by police, according to the regulation.
