A Tianjin Airlines plane carrying 15 passengers was forced to return to Yan'an Airport Tuesday after an engine fire was suspected shortly after takeoff, according to a report from Huashang Daily.

Flight GS7436 was about 20 minutes into its trip from Yan'an to Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi Province, when the indicator suggested its left engine was on fire.

The plane landed back in Yan'an at 11 a.m., where all passengers disembarked safely.

Employees with Yan'an Airport said some people were suffering from shock by the time they had returned the airport where psychological counseling was made available for the passengers.

Passengers were sent back to downtown Yan'an or were given an alternative flight to their destination.

The cause of the technical problem is still under investigation.

Air accidents have occurred frequently since last month. A deadly one happened on August 24th when a passenger aircraft crashed in Yichun, killing 42 people and injuring 54 others.
