Tianjin Heping District Fire Safety Committee Office issued a notice on February 25, proposing "five strict prohibitions" on parking and charging of electric bicycles in residential areas, and prohibiting electric bicycles and their batteries from entering the home.
1. It is strictly prohibited to park and charge electric bicycles in public foyers, evacuation stairwells, evacuation passages, safety exits and other areas that affect the evacuation of people in residential buildings;
2. It is strictly prohibited to connect wires to charge electric bicycles without permission;
3. It is strictly prohibited to damage, misappropriate, or dismantle without authorization or deactivate fire-fighting facilities and equipment in centralized parking and charging areas for electric bicycles;
4. Electric bicycles and their batteries are strictly prohibited from entering the home;
5. It is strictly prohibited to park electric bicycles in fire truck passages and fire truck elevated operating areas.
