Turkish Airlines announced major additions to its China service on December 3, 2010, with a plan to add frequency in Beijing and Shanghai and a new route to Guangzhou. From December 23, the airline will operate daily flights from Beijing to Istanbul, an increase over the previous five-weekly schedule to the Chinese capital. Shanghai – Istanbul service will also become daily service soon with the exact date to be announced.
In addition to the daily flight schedule in Beijing and Shanghai, Turkish Airlines also revealed they have received final approval and will inaugurate new service between Istanbul and Guangzhou on January 31, 2011. Preparations are being made to welcome the first flight to Guangzhou, Turkish Airlines’ third destination in mainland China, while bookings are already being taken from agents and travelers throughout the Pearl River Delta region.
In Beijing, to promote the newly expanded daily flight schedule, Turkish Airlines announced special, discount fares from Beijing to Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The fares start at RMB 3490 for a round trip to most destinations in Europe. The special offer will be available daily from December 22 through March 31, 2011, making Spring Festival travel even more convenient for the incoming Year of the Rabbit.
Turkish Airlines management in China is understandably excited about these recent developments.
