China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine issued a report on China's Manufacturing Competitiveness Index in 2010.
After evaluating statistics of more than 250-thousand manufacturers nationwide, last year's manufacturing competitiveness index reached 82.57, up 0.43 points from 2009.
The companies in the eastern part of China are still leading, while the competitiveness of those in the central part is improving at a stable speed. Topping the list are the municipalities of Shanghai, Beijing and Tianjin and the provinces of Guangdong, Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
Among the 29 fields in the manufacturing industry, competitiveness of equipment manufacturing is at a relatively high level, while that of plastic and food manufacturing has witnessed a declining trend.
