Chinese workers at an LG group factory in the eastern part of the country have gone on strike on a dispute over year-end bonuses.
They have accused the firm of awarding higher bonuses to South Korean staff at the unit, rather than local hires.
The strike is the latest in a series of protests across the country as workers demand higher salaries.
Rising food and fuel costs have seen an increase in the cost of living in China fuelling demand for higher wages.
According to the AFP news agency and China Labour Watch, some 8,000 staff have joined the strike.
"We and the Nanjing city government are jointly negotiating with workers to smoothly reach an agreement and we expect the problems to be resolved soon," Claire Ohm, a spokeswoman of LG Display was quoted as Reuters news agency as saying.
"Some of our production has been suspended," she added.
When contacted by the BBC, Ms Ohm declined to comment, saying the company was preparing a statement on the issue.
