On 28 December, with the first stake laid down, Tianjin Lujiazui Plaza,an investedment of Shanghai Lujiazui Group and listed as one of the city’s major service industry programs, officially started construction.
It is another comprehensive modern service cluster in the city centre, combining commerceial, office, culture, entertainment, restaurant, and hotel and leisure functions. Together with the complex “Aqua City” just across the road, it will form a key business area around Tianjin West Railway Station.
Tianjin Lujiazui Plaza project covers a land area of 57,000 square m2 and a construction area of 500,000 m2 (including 180,000 m2 underground) and comprises two A-grade office buildings some 200 meters high and a high-end commercial hotel covering 100,000m2. Total investment for this project is about CNY 6 billion. It is expected to be completed by 2015 and provide up to 25,000 jobs. After completion, this project, will become a new Tianjin landmark and a shining pearl at the source of Haihe River.
